Acne & Acne Scars
1. Treatment :
- The treatment for acne and acne scars involves the application of specialized medicated solutions or dermatological procedures designed to target both active breakouts and residual scarring.
- These treatments work by deeply cleansing the pores, reducing oil production, calming inflammation, and accelerating skin regeneration.
- Depending on the skin type and severity, methods such as chemical peels, laser therapy, or microneedling may be recommended. These techniques help exfoliate damaged skin layers, stimulate collagen production, and promote the formation of healthy, smooth skin.
2. Number of Sessions :
- The total number of sessions required depends on the intensity of acne, the depth of scarring, and the treatment modality chosen.
- On average, a series of 4 to 6 sessions, spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart, is recommended to achieve optimal results.
3. Pre-Treatment Care :
- Patients are advised to discontinue the use of active skincare products like retinoids or exfoliants 2–3 days before the procedure.
- Avoid applying makeup or any topical products on the day of treatment.
- Daily use of a broad-spectrum sunscreen is essential in the days leading up to the session.
4. Post-Treatment Care :
- It is common to experience mild redness, dryness, sensitivity, or slight peeling of the skin after treatment.
- Apply a soothing moisturizer and sunscreen regularly to protect and hydrate the skin.
- Avoid direct sunlight, saunas, and harsh skincare products for a few days post-procedure.
- Do not pick or scratch the treated area to prevent further irritation or pigmentation.
